Availability and Funding

The Renal Enclave is currently expected to be available through September 2026, with extensions subject to continued support and demand. This project is supported by the Office of the Secretary Patient-Centered Outcome Research Trust Fund.

Available Datasets

N3C ingests and harmonizes data from multiple sources for use in multiple enclaves. All enclaves contain de-identified clinical data from four common data models (TriNetX, OMOP, PCORNet and ACT), over 60 publically available datasets such as census data, pollution data, (See list) multiple synthetic datasets for training and education. In addition each enclave contain one or more linked data set including:

  • CMS Medicare and Medicaid data
  • Mortality Data
  • Imaging Data
  • COVID Viral Variant Data
  • Vaccine Data
  • Cancer and Organ Transplant Registry data
    • Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER), and
    • Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR)

All de-identified clinical data from the four common data models and CMS Medicare and Medicaid data is harmonized and available in OMOP Common Data Model for analysis.

Special Considerations

While N3C supports multi-institutional collaborative research, researchers are required to protect patient privacy. All collaborators working via video conference must have approved access to all data or results shown. N3C also prohibits taking screenshots or video recordings of data or results, except for aggregated results and summaries that have been approved for export as described in the N3C Download Policy.
